Blogi on ollut harmillisen kauan ilman uutta sisältöä. Sen vuoksi pistin nyt hihat heilumaan ja seurauksena
1) Kaikissa vanhoissa kirjoituksissa, joissa ei ollut kunnon kuvitusta, on nyt sellainen. Tarkoituksena on antaa parempi kuva jokaisesta kirjasta. Kirjoista saa myös kysellä lisää, jos jokin asia mietityttää. Vastaan mielelläni!
2) Jonossa on kymmeniä luonnoksia - tiedossa on siis kymmeniä kirjoituksia kymmenistä kirjoista! Pari niistä on lähes julkaisua vaille valmiita, joten helmikuun aikana on odotettavissa useampikin postaus.
Sain joululahjaksi Gary Vitacco-Roblesin Iconin. Se on kaksiosainen, upouusi elämäkerta, joka tempaisi nopeasti mukaansa. Vaikka luen sitä innolla, sen kanssa menee vielä aikaa: kumpikin osa on todella paksu - kakkososa jopa lähes tuhatsivuinen. Teksti on hyvin kiinnostavaa, ja ihme kyllä Gary Vitacco-Robles on onnistunut löytämään uutta tietoa ja uusia yksityiskohtia.
Iconin lisäksi sain hiljattain toisenkin Marilyn-kirjan, Salvatore Ferragamo -museon Marilyn-näyttelyn yhteydessä kootun kirjan. Sitä en ole vielä aloittanut, mutta selailun perusteella kyseessä on upea teos.
And I absolutely have to mention two upcoming MM books:
1) Before Marilyn, The Blue Book Modelling Years by Astrid Franse and Michelle Morgan will be published next summer. I've been waiting eagerly for this book, because it focuses on Norma Jeane's time with the Blue Book Modelling Agency. I'm expecting a lot from this book.
2) Holding A Good Thought For Marilyn, 1926-1954 The Hollywood Years by Stacy Eubank is another book that will focus on the first part of Marilyn's life. I know Stacy Eubank through Everlasting Star boards, and she's one of the best Marilyn experts there. I am so much looking forward to this book as it's supposed to have new information.

2) Stacy Eubankin Holding A Good Thought For Marilyn, 1926-1954 The Hollywood Years on toinen kirja, joka keskittyy Marilynin elämän alkupuoliskoon. Tiedän Stacy Eubankin Everlasting Star -foorumien kautta, ja hänellä on todella kattavasti tietoa Marilynista. Tätäkin kirjaa odotan innolla, sillä sen pitäisi sisältää uutta tietoa.

This book has been lacking new content for quite a while. This is why I decided to do a major update, and now
1) All previous posts that had no decent pictures now have them. This is so that you'll get a better idea of what the book is like. Also, if you have questions about a certain book please ask! I'm more than happy to answer.
2) I have dozens of drafts waiting. This means you'll get dozens of posts about MM books! A couple of them are almost ready to be published, so there will be more posts in February.
I got Icon by Gary Vitacco-Robles as a Christmas present. It's a brand new biography in two volumes. I started reading it immediately and can't put it down because it's so good. I read it every day but beware, it will still take some time until I'm finished and ready to post a review: both volumes are very big, Volume 2 alone is almost 1000 pages! I'm enjoying it so far, and Gary Vitacco-Robles has even been able to uncover new information.
I recently got another Marilyn book as well. It's a book that was published a couple of years ago when the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum had a Marilyn exhibit. I haven't started reading it yet, but it looks gorgeous.
